Behind the Wick

Gentlemen’s Wick wasn't built in a factory.

It was built right here in my garage in Perkiomenville PA.

 

I work a full-time job with a mechanical background someone who's always been drawn to figuring things out, working with my hands, and spending time in the garage whenever I can. Some of my hobbies include classic cars, aviation, and honestly just about anything mechanical.

When I’m not working or in the garage, I’m usually spending time with my family, listening to good music, or enjoying a little quiet time. When the day winds down though, I like to sit for a bit and think, often with my journal, an occasional cigar, or sometimes a drink, with a candle burning in the background for ambiance. I can remember one rainy night though, while gazing into this lifeless flame, I thought it felt flat. It felt boring. Like the candle had flatlined. What was going on here? It wasn’t adding anything to the moment. It certainly didn't inspire me. 

I checked online for something better, something more masculine, but I couldn’t find a candle worth a damn... nothing that really fit my lifestyle anyway. Most men's candles feel gimmicky, too loud, or too novelty driven. That’s when I decided to build my own and solve the problem.

After all, that's what I do. I fix things. 

So I took some classes, locked myself in the shop and began experimenting and testing. After more attempts than I can count, I finally felt like I landed on something that felt right. No floral scents. No clean linen profiles. Just rich, masculine fragrances.

In a lot of ways, Gentlemen’s Wick reflects who I am and what led me to build it. That's really how Gentlemen’s Wick started.

Made for real moments, coming home after a long day, winding down after a night out, or just sitting back when the day is finally over.

Gentlemen’s Wick isn’t for everyone. It’s made for those who get it.
