Flame Guide

Trim wood wick to 1/8 inch before each use.

Clean ash from wick before each use.

Let first burn reach a full melt pool.

Burn no more than 4 hours at a time.

Keep away from children, pets, and drafts.

Burn within sight.

Place on a heat-resistant surface.

Retire candle when 1/4 inch of wax remains

Wood Wick Characteristics

Wood wicks are a natural material and do not burn identically from candle to candle. Furthermore, wood wicks burn differently than traditional cotton wicks. Variations in the wood grain, density, and composition along with room size, ambient temperature, and airflow can influence flame height, crackling sound, and overall burn performance. Because flame behavior directly affects heat distribution, wick performance can also influence how the wax melts during use.

Wax Behavior

We use a coconut soy wax blend selected for clean burn characteristics and scent performance. Soy based waxes respond differently to heat than some traditional paraffin waxes and may require sufficient burn time to fully liquefy across the surface during early burns.

Candle wax has a “memory,” meaning it will continue to melt in the pattern established during the first several burns. If a candle is not allowed to reach a full melt pool where the melted wax extends evenly to the edges of the vessel uneven melting or tunneling may occur in subsequent burns.

During the earliest burns, a complete edge to edge melt pool may take additional time to develop. As the wax burns deeper into the jar, heat retention increases and promotes a more consistent, even melt pool over time.

Allowing the candle to reach a full melt pool during the first several burns is important for long term performance.

Room Size & Placement

Our candles are designed for small to medium sized rooms. For best fragrance performance, place your candle near a wall or corner, where surrounding surfaces help circulate scent throughout the space.

Avoid fans, vents, or open windows as airflow can weaken fragrance.
